At Coe Code, we believe your brewing data is personal and should remain under your control. This privacy policy explains how BrewLogica collects, uses, and protects your information as you track your coffee journey.

Information We Collect

Coffee and Brewing Data

BrewLogica stores information about your coffee beans and brewing sessions:

• Bean details (roaster, origin, process, variety, roast date)
• Bag information (weight, purchase date, price)
• Brew logs (method, parameters, ratings, notes)
• Photos of coffee bags and labels
• Grinder and equipment information

Account Information

• Email address (for account creation and login)
• Display name (optional)
• Subscription status

AI Feature Usage

When you use AI features, we process:

• Photos submitted for label parsing (processed by AI, not stored after extraction)
• Text submitted for brew parsing
• AI usage counts for subscription management

Device and Usage Information

• Device type and iOS version
• App version
• Crash reports and performance data
• Anonymous usage analytics

How We Use Your Information

• Core Features: Store and sync your beans, brews, and insights across devices
• AI Features: Process photos and text to extract coffee information
• Insights: Generate resting profiles and brewing analytics
• App Improvement: Analyze anonymous usage to improve features
• Support: Provide customer support and troubleshooting
• Security: Protect against fraud and abuse

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

Your coffee data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. The app works fully offline—you can log brews without an internet connection.

Cloud Sync

When you create an account, your data is securely synchronized using Supabase:

• End-to-end encryption in transit (TLS 1.3)
• Encrypted at rest in PostgreSQL database
• Row-level security ensures you only access your own data
• Regular security audits and backups

AI Processing

Photos submitted for AI label parsing are:

• Sent securely to our AI processing service
• Processed to extract text and coffee information
• Not stored after processing is complete
• Not used to train AI models

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal data. Limited sharing occurs only for:

• Supabase: Cloud database and authentication (data storage)
• Anthropic: AI processing for label and brew parsing
• Apple: App Store subscriptions and payments
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or legal process

Your Rights and Controls

Data Access and Export

• View all your data within the app
• Export your beans and brews (coming soon)
• Request a copy of all stored data

Account Management

• Delete your account and all associated data
• Use the app without an account (local-only mode)
• Manage subscription through App Store

AI Feature Control

• AI features are opt-in (you choose when to use them)
• Manual entry always available as alternative
• View AI usage history in settings

Data Retention

• Account data retained while your account is active
• Data deleted within 30 days of account deletion request
• Backups retained for 90 days for disaster recovery
• Anonymous analytics may be retained indefinitely

Children's Privacy

BrewLogica is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us immediately.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in the United States where our servers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data according to applicable privacy laws.

Changes to This Policy
